The staircase tower attached to the "Palas" encompasses a wonderful wooden spiral made of a single log. The building has been erected around 1660. This happened at the same time when the castle chapel was heightended. Here a similar wooden spiral can be admired. Those construction measures had been carried out by Hanß Siegemund II. Haller v. Hallerstein. The necessary money presumably came from the proceeds of selling the pub opposite to the castle (today "Gasthaus Postmeister") in 1651.
