Pächterhaus

The building on the right behind the entrance is the so-called "Burgkapelle" (Castle Chapel). The building, initially without the clock tower, has been erected in 1561 by Endres Oertel. Towards the street side (west, right side on the picture) it accomodates the so-called "Pächtershaus" (Tenants's House). The "Pächtershaus" has been detached from the original building in 1843 by an inside sandstone wall. At the same time, a 16th century front building attached to the west side, the so-called "Voigtenhaus" (Reeve's House), had been torn down. The "Pächtershaus" still exhibits traces of the roof of the "Voigtenhaus" and at the remainder of the south wall, underneath the flat roof on the right, there are still remains of the old wall painting.
It is assumed that peasents and servants used to live in the "Voigtenhaus" and later in the "Pächtershaus"
